Upstash develops a serverless managed database and event streaming service, starting with Redis and Kafka. It connects to Redis APIs closely and provides serverless data and the ability to store hot data in-memory and cold data in disk storage (in comparison, Redis is a single-tenant focused solution with fully in-memory architecture). Upstash targets startups and individual developers, enabling truly pay-as-you-go pricing that can fully scale up and down without any fixed base price and commitment.
