I got into venture because..

I was curious about how such a relatively small corner of finance can have such an outsize role in creating companies that touch our lives every day.

If I wasn’t in venture, I’d be..

a Black Cab driver in London or one of those people dancing their hearts out behind the DJ booth in a Boiler Room set.

The best advice I got from a colleague was..

from Zeynep, who is a part of Bek’s talent team. She told me vulnerability comes before trust, not the other way around. In professional settings, she said, one shouldn’t expect trust to be created without first being comfortable being vulnerable.

The most unexpected thing about being in venture is..

how so many funds have great brands while not actually having good performance. It often takes a lot of digging to find the truly great funds and investors. Journalists are usually good people to ask about it ;)
